In this survey, Indigenous Knowledge or 'IK' is a term used to cover a range of culture and knowledge owned, held and continually developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

IK can include languages, music, symbols, designs, visual art, craft, architecture, know-how, practices and skills. It also includes knowledge about plants and animals, or other types of knowledge.
